Overview
An Account Manager (AM) must possess strong planning, creative, and strategic thinking skills, as well as a proven ability to manage accounts and account teams. They are the primary daily point of contact for a client, and all the account’s activities percolate through this person. The role will support a senior management team and manage junior team members such as assistants, account executives, and interns.

Account Management / Team Building
Contributing guidance and ideas for the account teams to implement and develop client work, an Account Manager will work with junior team members to challenge them and improve skills.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Team time management: Developing client work plans with the SAM/Account Director and delegating/monitoring tasks.
- Briefing/informing the team: Communicating goals, guidelines, and deadlines effectively.
- Hosting meetings: Chairing client and internal meetings and ensuring clear outcomes.
- Team motivation: Inspiring and supporting team members to meet objectives.
- Guidance and ideas: Providing feedback and support to improve team skills.
- Assisting and developing executives: Coaching junior members to enhance their PR skills.
- Communicating with supervisors: Keeping supervisors updated on progress and challenges.
PR Skills / Media Relations
- Ability to draft press releases and other content.
- Excellent media contacts.
- Strong understanding of story angles and media timelines.
- Knowledge of luxury industry trends and insights.
- Client coaching and PR planning.
- Writing and media liaison skills.
- Media pitching and proactive relationship building.
Client Relations
- Responsible for the day-to-day running of client business.
- Reporting results to the SAM/Account Director.
- Managing projects from start to finish.
- Providing strategic counsel to clients.
- Ensuring account profitability and identifying growth opportunities.
- Building productive client relationships.
New Business and Partnerships
- Writing elements and input into new business pitches.
- Identifying new business opportunities and organic growth.
- Networking and forming strategic partnerships.
Social Media & Influencer Management
- Supporting Mercury’s own Instagram channels.
- Creating compelling social media content calendars.
- Managing influencer pitching and relationships.
Contribution to the Agency
- Effective time management for company and client tasks.
- Attending and contributing constructively to internal meetings.
- Supporting Mercury’s vision and demonstrating exemplary conduct.
