Description:
Earthmoving is looking for a Communications Representative to help plan, create, and deliver divisional communications support for services growth, safety, and quality initiatives. This position will also be responsible for managing the division communications inbox and calendar, updating websites, and managing recurring communications channels. This position also consults on some special projects. We are seeking an adaptable and driven professional to bring a strategic viewpoint and deliver on commitments with operational excellence. This role has responsibility for both tactical execution and some strategic consulting work.
What you will do:
Manage and execute internal communications vehicles, including newsletters, web sites, videos/streaming media, employee meetings, Viva Engage communities, etc.
Provide strategic communications thought leadership for customers, including division and end user project teams. This includes building strategic communication plans and delivering creative and strategic communications solutions.
Write, edit and deliver facility specific communications as needed.
Provide logistics, event planning and communications support for special events, including the Earthmoving’s United Way Campaign, International Women’s Day, division-wide meeting support, facility support as needed, etc.
Create and edit videos and other multi-media elements for communication purposes.
What you have:
College or university degree in communications or a related field or equivalent experience.
Proficient with Microsoft Office tools and applications: Sharepoint, Outlook and Outlook Groups, Powerpoint, Teams, etc.
1+ years of job-related experience.

Strong writing and strategic communications skills experience, the ability to maintain confidentiality, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Website management experience in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and Unily platforms, experience with the Adobe Creative Suite of tools, and Poppulo is a plus.

Summary Pay Range:
$87,480.00 - $131,280.00

Job Description
The Enterprise Strategy Division (ESD) **Communications Leader **works closely with key business partners to plan, develop and execute communications in support of our Enterprise Strategy. In addition, this role serves as a strategic communicators advisor and thought partner for our Senior Vice President of the Enterprise Strategy Division.
The ideal candidate will be skilled at building a strong network across a complex, global matrix to ensure consensus and drive effective communication of key business initiatives.
What you will do:
- Strategy Communications – Collaborate with colleagues from across Caterpillar to create communications plans and deliverables that are aligned to enterprise strategy and related initiatives; Develop relationships with business unit communicators, leaders and SMEs; Review internal and external talking points and presentations from an enterprise POV; Advise on communication formats to ensure clarity and accuracy of message
- Executive Communications – Serve as a strategic communications advisor to the SVP of ESD; Develop and implement an annual communications strategy to establish the SVP of ESD’s voice to their employees and to promote the Division across the enterprise; Create effective presentations for internal, dealer and external audiences; Contributes to the overall strategic business goals and plans of ESD
- ESD Division Communications – Own, execute and continuously improve internal communications for the Enterprise Strategy Division
- Deliverables to Include – Communications strategies and plans; key messages; presentations for internal and external audiences; video scripts; internal articles; meeting execution including prep, agenda development, logistics and content; LinkedIn posts
What you will have:
- Strategic Planning: Knowledge of effective communications planning techniques and ability to contribute to strategic planning in support of the overall business plan.
- Communicating Complex Concepts: The ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple, clear language appropriate to the audience.
- Influencing: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization.
- Interpersonal Relationships: The ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
- Effective Presentations: Knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques; Defines and organizes the content and flow of a multi-media, multi-speaker presentation; Prepares complex presentations to large or critical technical and business audiences; Coaches others in all aspects of preparing and giving a formal presentation.
- Managing Multiple Priorities: Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
- Copywriting and Editing: Able to effectively write, review and edit texts and documents.
Top Candidates will have:
- Experience delivering strategies and communications that effectively support change initiatives and alignment to organizational/business goals.
- Experience as a strategic communications advisor to C-level executives including writing communications and developing presentations.
- A proven ability to thrive within a complex, matrixed environment.
Additional Details:
- Caterpillar currently operates in a hybrid work environment, requiring a minimum of three days per week of onsite, in office work.
- Some limited travel may be required.
