Job Description
We are Wildfire
Wildfire is a multi-award-winning tech PR agency that turns ambition into action for tech brands around the
world.
Our clients past and present include Solarwinds, Bango, Samsara, Cloudflare and Confluent
Achieving ambitions doesn’t happen by accident, so our team of creative consultants make client goals a reality through a combination of strategic thinking, bold ideas, exceptional content, and stand-out results.
Proudly 100% employee-owned, we promise an exceptional team of highly motivated professionals who
deliver outstanding results.
Our drive to make an impact not only applies to our work, but also how we do business. As a certified B Corp
and Great Place to Work™, we are committed to making a positive difference for our people, society, and
the planet.
Headline facts
- Wildfire is a 100% employee-owned business, which means all employees are co-owners
- Wildfire is a specialist agency that has always worked exclusively for technology companies
- Within our tech specialism, we focus on a range of sectors, enterprise IT, martech, electronics, consumer tech, and breakthrough technologies
- HQ in Kingston upon Thames, UK, with London office space
- Team of 31 full-time, client-facing consultants
- B Corp certified: we are purpose-led and committed to balancing profit, with being a force for good for people and the planet
Our purpose
Wildfire’s purpose is simply: we turn ambition into action.
From the client’s perspective this means working with ambitious challenger brands and industry leaders to create insightful and creative PR programmes and campaigns that are anything but boring…and that help clients shake up their industries, command market leadership, reach record results, and achieve their brand ambitions.
For Wildfire that means rapid growth and profitability, and continuing our journey to become one of the ‘hottest’ agencies in the UK.
And for our teams, it means seeking out brands to work with that we’re passionate about and creating a culture and work environment designed to help everyone thrive. One where our team feel valued and empowered to fulfil their potential, make a difference, and realise their own personal career ambitions.
Employee ownership
On the 1 st May 2024 Wildfire became 100% employee owned.
This means that Wildfire’s previous owners sold 100% of their shareholding back to the business, so Wildfire is now ‘owned’ by everyone employed by the company.
Employees of Wildfire are not physically issued shares in the business. Instead, there is The Wildfire Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), which holds the company shares and has a board of trustees whose role it is to hold the board to account and ensure we are fairly representing the interests of every employee..
What does employee-owned mean for me?
As an employee-owner of Wildfire you would benefit both financially and by being more involved in the future
of the business.
- Employee-owner involvement. As an employee owned business we are now fully committed to enhancing how employees contribute and are listened to in determining the company’s future.
- Financial (short-term). Employee-owners are given a tax break from the government over their annual bonus. Up to a threshold of £3,600 per year, no tax is payable. However bonuses are not guaranteed and decided by the management team based on business and personal performance.
- Continuity and security. Employee-ownership protects the future and culture of Wildfire by enabling the management team to continue to run the business based on company values
- Financial (longer-term). When the company has paid the previous owners for their shares, known as Financial Freedom Day) significantly more funds will be available for salaries, an increased pot for bonuses, and more opportunities for every employee to have a voice over how profits are used.
Our values
Be bold, Be informed, Be exceptional, Be yourself and Do good are our values.
They reflect who we are as an agency and as a team. We don’t subscribe to nonsense stereotypes or internal politics. We’re all about smart thinking and challenging ourselves. Having the confidence to express ideas and opinions, and to push the boundaries of what’s come before.
Under our Do Good value we run a full programme of initiatives to support our people, industry, local community, and the planet. Examples from last year include:
- Community: Renovated our local Trussell Trust hub, ran a food drive, packed Christmas hampers
- Industry: Appointed our first PR apprentice and participated in the PR Cup 2024 to support the Taylor Bennett Foundation
- Planet: Helped Citizen Zoo create water vole habitats and planted 2,000 trees in Thailand, sequestering 91,400kg CO2 to date
- People: Regular wellbeing days, plus a wellbeing month offering sound therapy, meditation, Kundalina yoga, and holistic wellness. Regular programme of inclusive social events
- Charity: Matching fundraising efforts of five team members, plus pro bono work delivering: student mentoring, blog support, PR workshops
- Ethics: We run internal polls on whether to pursue certain new business opportunities that may potentially conflict with B Corp and/or the team’s personal beliefs
